Julianna Goldstein | 3rd Grade Co-Teacher
Maestra Juliana is excited to be joining the third-grade team at Fuente Nueva! She earned bachelor's degrees and teaching credentials in both Spanish and Elementary Education from Humboldt State University (now Cal Poly Humboldt), where she also played on the women's soccer team. Her passion for language and culture led her to study abroad in Chile for a year and participate in programs in Oaxaca and Parras, Mexico. While there, she taught environmental education classes and even helped build an adobe home through the Appropriate Technologies Program!
Although new to third grade, Maestra Juliana is no stranger to Fuente Nueva. She completed part of her student teaching here before being hired as a kindergarten teacher, where she spent six wonderful years in the classroom. She has also served on the Charter Council, taught Spanish at a Montessori preschool, substituted in many classrooms, and—if you've been around Fuente Nueva—you probably know her as the school's photographer!
As both a teacher and a Fuente Nueva parent, Maestra Juliana loves the school's commitment to culture, the arts, community, and the Spanish language. She enjoys creating hands-on learning experiences, cooking with her students, working with small groups, incorporating student choice, exploring the outdoors, and bringing learning to life through field trips and real-world experiences.
Outside of school, Maestra Juliana loves spending time with her family. She enjoys coaching soccer, cheering on her kids at volleyball games and dance performances, watching beautiful Humboldt sunsets, and exploring the outdoors. She also has a cat named Tito, who is a favorite member of the family!
She is thrilled to be partnering with Cammy and can't wait for a fantastic year of learning, laughter, and adventure in third grade!
Cammy Grey | 3rd Grade Co-Teacher
Cammy Grey is grateful to have found and become a part of Fuente Nueva’s bilingual community and excited to return to teaching third grade! She has loved getting to know the students, families, and staff as the theater teacher, substituting, and as a proud parent of two kiddos at Fuente over the past couple of years.
She is excited to be working alongside her partner teacher, Juliana Goldstein, to create a top-notch Spanish immersion experience that is both fun and challenging.
After graduating from Humboldt State University, Cammy served in the Peace Corps in Bolivia for three years before earning her Master of Education from UC Santa Cruz. She brings over 20 years of teaching experience, including nine years teaching third grade bilingual, teaching curriculum-integrated dance, and gifted education. Her experiences have deepened her love of bilingual education, creative learning, arts integration and helping students discover and develop their unique strengths and passions.
Cammy is thrilled to be back in Humboldt County and at Fuente Nueva! She loves living here with her husband, Tom, and spending time with their awesome kids mountain biking, camping, exploring the beautiful beaches, and simply being together.
